Pocket Pixelmon Go is a free simulation game that sends you out into the world to catch dozens of characters everywhere you go. Though similar to other games, it does not require an internet connection. You can play at home, in the middle of the park, while waiting in line at the store and anywhere else you go.

When you open the game, it will access your camera. You will then move the phone around in front of you to find characters in the world. It places those characters directly on top of the things you see, including park benches and fences. When you find a character you want to catch, you can press one button on your phone to capture it. This will bring up a new screen that shows you what you caught and some basic information about that creature, including its weight and height. The game also tells you any special abilities that the creature has, which lets you know how well it will fare in battle.

Similar games feature a map that uses small icons to tell you how far away you are from characters. This game uses red and green dots instead of those icons. Those dots help you see how close you are to the characters and give you an idea of how you need to move to capture it. Once you add a new creature, you can check out your collection in the game.

This game also provides you with pocket balls that look like small blue boxes with a red latch on the front. You need at least one ball for each creature that you collect. Once you run out of boxes, you can use the map to find stops that help you get more boxes for free. You can also build up the number of boxes that you have as you walk around town.

Another feature of the game is that it comes with an incubator. You will sometimes come across eggs that hatch to reveal new creatures. When you find an egg, you have the option of leaving it there or picking it up. The game will ask if you want to save that egg for later or place it in an incubator now. Using the incubator will help the egg hatch and become a new character you can play with later. While there are a number of other simulation games of this type available, Pocket Pixelmon Go is the only free game that lets you roam and play without an internet connection.
